Eighteen months after the murder of his wife, Jack Bauer is estranged from his daughter, Kim and no longer works for the CIA's Los Angeles Counter Terrorist Unit. But a phone call from the President of the United States sends a reluctant Jack back to CTU for a briefing. There the head of CTU secretly tells him about a terrorist plot involving the detonation of a nuclear bomb in Los Angeles within the next 24 hours. Although hesitant to get involved, Jack finally agrees to go undercover to find the terrorists, unaware they have been aided by the person responsible for shattering his life a year and a half ago.videoreef

Golden Globe-winning Kiefer Sutherland is back to save the day as jack Bauer. Also back is the show's groundbreaking form, a format that was debated at the end of the first season. But while episodes with stand-alone stories might have tempted more viewers who had missed a few episodes to tune in during season two, the decision to go with the real-time format again was easy to make once a stand-alone script was compared to the season-long idea pitched to the network.videoreef

"You cannot take the incredible push that the media gave the producers for creating this new idea and say, 'Thanks for all your help, now we're gonna change it so it's easier to syndicate, and see ya!' Season Three

It's been three years since CTU agent Jack Bauer thwarted a terrorist attempt to plunge the United States into war. Now he's back in L.A. after working undercover for six months bringing down drug lord Ramon Salazar. But then the FBI receives a phone call threatening the release of a deadly virus in Los Angeles if Salazar isn't released from prison within six hours. As CTU races to locate the virus, Jack realizes that the only way to prevent additional terrorist demands is to find the source of the virus -- by breaking Salazar out of prison himself.videoreef

Season Four

Although fired from CTU, Jack Bauer is thrust back into action after a deadly terrorist strike and the kidnapping of his new boss, the U.S. Secretary of Defense. Eighteen months after faking his own death, Jack Bauer returns to L.A. when it becomes clear that the only four people who know he is still alive are being targeted for assassination. The killings coincide with the signing of an anti-terrorism treaty with Russia, leading Jack to suspect a link between the assassinations, the treaty, and a group of Russian terrorists. But as the terror unfolds, Jack learns the day's events were set in motion by an an individual within the U.S. administration - someone with the power and resources to thwart Jack's every move.videoreef

Season Six

After twenty months in a Chinese prison, Jack Bauer is suddenly returned to the United States. But instead of being free, Jack's release is part of a secret deal: his life in return for the location of Hamri Al-Assad, the leader of a terrorist organization that has unleashed a wave of terror across the country. A broken man, physically and mentally, Jack agrees to the exchange. But when he learns that his new captor, Abu Fayed, is actually the man behind the attacks and that his own sacrifice is meaningless, Jack lashes out and escapes.
